A refrigerated container, a "reefer" in industry terms, is a standard shipping container with a refrigeration unit integrated into one end wall. It runs continuously or on a set schedule, circulating conditioned air through a raised aluminum T-floor so air can move beneath the stored goods.
Reefers were designed for international perishable food shipping. They hold precise temperatures across ocean voyages, through equatorial heat and arctic cold. What that means for you: a reefer on your South Carolina property will hold its set temperature through the hottest week of the year.
Reefers need a power source, typically a 460V 3-phase connection. If your property does not have 3-phase, a diesel or natural gas generator can run the unit instead. We can walk through power options when you inquire.

Reefer units are inspected and tested before delivery, and the refrigeration system is run and verified to reach set temperature. We share whatever service history we hold for the unit. Refrigerated units carry no separate refrigeration warranty.

Reefer containers plug into a 460V 3-phase, 60Hz supply, the standard for commercial and industrial electrical systems. If your property is commercial, agricultural, or industrial, there is a good chance you already have 3-phase available.
A qualified electrician can install an outlet at the reefer location. The refrigeration unit draws roughly 7 to 12 kW depending on the set temperature and the ambient conditions.
If the property has no 3-phase supply, a rural site, an off-grid location, or a temporary event site, a diesel or natural gas generator rated for 3-phase output can run the unit. Generator rentals are widely available through equipment rental companies.
